MagnaCult has inked a deal with record label Graviton Music Services for the release of their upcoming third studio album. With ten years of thrashing stages and two albums under their belts, the deal will take MagnaCult to the next level, with support for more tours and a new album.
Graviton owner Menno Kappe has metal flowing through his veins; after working for Roadrunner Records (Slipknot, Machine Head, Lamb of God a.o.) for more than 19 years, he has an ear for great music and a strong vision for the band.
“I have been following MagnaCult since the release of their first album back in 2007. At that time it was sometimes a bit frustrating to see that there was so little space for any talented Dutch or even European acts within the Roadrunner roster, which in some ways was understandable, but meant they had acts like Volbeat and Gojira slip through their fingers. I am extremely excited though, to have the chance now, a number of years later, to work with MagnaCult, who I am sure will bring across a lot of the amazing energy they have shown throughout their career to our label”
“We’d had a few offers come our way, but for MagnaCult joining forces with Menno and his team was the obvious choice,” says guitarist David. “Meeting with him and talking about future plans showed that we all have the same direction in mind for the band.”
Over the years MagnaCult has built a strong following, and has toured with bands like Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Ill Niño, Kittie and many more. Most recently they have shared stages with Nile, King810, The Psyke Project, Butcher Babies and Trivium – MagnaCult knows how to thrash big stages and continues to grow their fan base with each show.
MagnaCult has started recording their third studio album – their most ambitious yet. “We’re excited about the new album, we’re really pushing our boundaries with this one,” says vocalist Seb. “It’s got our signature groove, and it’s brutal, technical and heavy. We can’t wait to hear the final mix and bring it to the fans.”
MagnaCult released their debut album ‘Synoré’ in May 2007 with Rusty Cage Records. The album was produced by the band with Jochem Jacobs (Textures) and Bouke Visser. MagnaCult released their second album ‘Insua EnVenom’ with Synoré Records; it was produced by Jochem Jacobs, this time together with MagnaCult guitarist Tomas. Jochem mixed and mastered both albums at his Split Second Sound Studio.
“Making music is our passion, so we’re really enjoying recording our new songs right now,” says guitarist Tomas. “But even more than that, bringing the mayhem to the fans is where it gets real for us. With this new deal, we’ll be rocking more stages, unleashing more metal and thrashing harder than ever!”
MagnaCult will release their new album in September 2016.
